Change Properties Wizard

General information

The "Change Properties" wizard is used for changing properties of several checks or alerts.

The way it works

Example1: Suppose you need to set the Timeout property to 30 seconds in all Ping checks. Start the wizard from the menu "Tools/Wizards/Change Properties…". Leave the value of the "Change properties" combo box set to "CHECK's". Select the Ping type of checks. Click the Next button. If you do not want to change the timeout of some checks in the hierarchic tree, uncheck the corresponding items. Click the Next button. Now select the Timeout property from the list and click the "Change…" button. Specify the new value of 30 in the "Change Property Timeout" dialog window. Click the Finish button. The task is done.

Example2: Suppose you need to set the value of the MailTo property to admin@domain.com in all E-Mail alerts. Start the wizard via the menu "Tools/Wizards/Change Properties…". Set the value of the "Change properties" combo box to "ALERT's". Select all types of checks by clicking the "Check All Items" button at the top of the list with check types. Select the E-Mail type of alerts. Click the Next button. After that you will see the hierarchic tree where you can correct which alerts should be changed. Click the Next button. Now select the MailTo property from the list and click the "Change…" button. Specify the new value admin@domain.com in the "Change Property MailTo" dialog window. Click the Finish button. The task is done.

Step 1:

At this step you should decide if you want to change properties of either checks or alerts and select the necessary types of checks and/or alerts. If you want to change the properties of alerts and select the Ping type of checks and the E-Mail type of alerts, it will result in displaying all E-Mail alerts from checks of the Ping type, while E-Mail alerts from other types of checks will not be displayed.
